Bayer Leverkusen boss Rudi Völler has described Kai Havertz as a mix between former German internationals Mesut Özil and Michael Ballack.

"He has the running style and elegance of Özil and the physicality, robustness, aerial power and ability to cause a danger in front of goal like Michael in his top years," Völler told Kicker.

"There are no limits for him. In addition to his talent and sporting abilities, he's totally down-to-earth," he added.

The 19-year-old has been linked with the likes of Bayern München, Real Madrid and FC Barcelona, but Leverkusen have made 'a fundamentally important decision' by making it clear that he's not for sale this summer, according to Völler.

"He's one of the most sought-after players in Europe. Not many expected that," Völler said.

Havertz scored 20 goals in 42 appearances for Leverkusen in the 2018/19 season.
