Timo Werner has been in red-hot form since Julian Nagelsmann took over as RB Leipzig coach in the summer, scoring 17 times in 20 appearances across all competitions, which means he's just two goals short of his 19-goal haul from last season.

When asked what has changed for him this season, the 23-year-old told Sport Bild:

"I'm now playing in a slightly different position as a kind of number 10. That helps me a lot. I have a lot of freedom. There are many teams that defend well in the Bundesliga. You often have to wait a long time for your chance and stay patient. But I've developed in that regard.

"I'm no longer worrying too much about whether I'll score or not. I just go on the pitch, give everything and hope that I'll score a goal that will ideally contribute to a win," Werner said.

In total, Werner has scored 78 goals in 134 games for RB Leipzig.
