VfL Wolfsburg finally won at home again with a 3-1 victory over Union Berlin. It’s only the second time they picked up three points at Volkswagen Arena in 2025, with the first coming back in January against Borussia Mönchengladbach.

“We are incredibly relieved today – the team, the fans, the club, the whole city.” said Wolfsburg’s interim coach Daniel Bauer. “We had to wait a very long time for a home win, and the boys desperately wanted it today. We scored great goals, even if we lost some momentum after the fourth goal was cancelled (by VAR).

“After that, Union Berlin came with enormous force and made the game exciting again. But we fought back with everything. In the end, it’s a great relief and joy that we were finally able to win at home.“

Wolfsburg will have one more game at Volkswagen Arena in 2025 with the inconsistent Freiburg the visiting side. Before that, they will lock horns with Gladbach at Borussia Park next Saturday.
