Report: Mario Götze prefers move to Italy

Mario Götze is said to be keen on a move to the Serie A.
Mario Götze is widely expected to leave Borussia Dortmund when his contract expires at the end of this season.

And according to a report from Bild, the 27-year-old is particularly interested in a move to the Italian Serie A.

Götze has been linked with AC Milan and Inter in the past. Whether he has attracted interest from other Italian clubs is unclear.

But the coronavirus pandemic, which has hit Italy particularly hard, could potentially hinder the midfielder's chances of joining a Serie A club.

Former German international Lothar Matthäus recently advised Götze to take a step down in his career, telling Sky that he 'can't see him joining a top club'.
