In the aftermath of Bayern Munich's 8-1 triumph over VfL Wolfsburg on Matchday 16, Harry Kane reflected on the game in his post-match interview with Bundesliga YouTube.

"It was great, I thought in moments we controlled it really well. We were disappointed to concede but we recovered well and started controlling the momentum.

“In the second-half we came out with more energy and intensity. We were ruthless in our attacks to score as many goals as we did and extend our lead to 11 points was important,” he added.

The Englishman's teammate Luis Díaz was in inspired form on the Bundesliga's return for the calendar year of 2026 and received special praise from the striker.

"[Díaz] gives us great energy and great quality. He works so hard for the team, you often see him tracking back and making a big defensive effort. He probably deserved another goal.

"But he's in the right areas. He makes those runs, even his first goal you saw him getting into the six-yard box areas and that's what you need,” Kane noted.

Despite the high-scoring affair, the 32-year-old marksman had a relatively quiet game until the 68th-minute when he set up Raphaël Guerreiro before scoring a beautiful goal seconds later.

“Lucho [Díaz] played me the ball and the space just opened up. I always feel I can use the defender to bend it around him, this one [goal] came off perfect and it couldn't have been any more top corner,” he explained.
