Frankfurt have lost four of their last six games in all competitions, including a 0-3 defeat at home to Basel, which was played behind closed doors due to the coronavirus pandemic.
But Trapp doesn't feel Hütter is to blame for the team's recent dip in form.
"I find it too easy to say that everything is bad when things aren't going well. I understand the dissatisfaction to some extent, but criticizing the coach is too cheap," he told Sport1 and added:
"We had bad games against Union Berlin and Leverkusen. The game against FC Basel shouldn't be given too much importance, because it wasn't easy due external circumstances. Otherwise, I can't remember a really bad performance from us."
In their next game, Trapp and Frankfurt face Bayern München away from home on Saturday.
