Jonathan Burkardt has been linked with a move away from Mainz after impressing this season.

It was recently reported that it would take an offer of at least €25 million to persuade Mainz to sell the striker.

However, Sport Bild now reports that Burkardt has a release clause of around 20 million.

"As a matter of principle, I don't comment on contractual matters," Mainz sporting director Christian Heidel told the publication.

Bayern Munich, Bayer Leverkusen, Eintracht Frankfurt, West Ham and AC Milan are among the clubs said to be interested in Burkardt.

The Germany international has scored 15 goals in 22 Bundesliga appearances this season.

His contract expires in 2027.
