Augsburg are in advanced negotiations to sign Schalke 04's Daniel Caligiuri, according to Bild.

Caligiuri's contract expires this summer, so Augsburg could snap him up on a free transfer.

The 32-year-old joined Schalke from Wolfsburg in January 2017 and has gone on to make 172 appearances for the club with 20 goals and 25 assists to his name.

Augsburg could get their transfer business done early this year, having already signed Tobias Strobl on a free transfer from Gladbach and exercised their option to purchase Felix Uduokhai from Wolfsburg.
