Bayer Leverkusen want to finish the Europa League before selling any players

Neither Kai Havertz nor any other Bayer Leverkusen player will be sold before the end of the season, says club boss Rudi Völler.

Bayer Leverkusen boss Rudi Völler has made it clear that the club will not be letting any players leave before their Europa League campaign finishes in August.

It was confirmed last week that Timo Werner will miss out on the Champions League restart to join Chelsea from RB Leipzig in July.

Völler now says he wouldn't allow something similar to happen at Leverkusen, who beat Rangers 3-1 in the first leg of their last-16 tie before the Europa League was suspended due to the coronavirus outbreak.

Kai Havertz, in particular, has been linked with a move away from Bayer Leverkusen this summer, but neither he nor anyone else can leave BayArena before the final game of the season has been played.

"For me, it goes without saying that no player will be leaving the club before the season is over," Völler told Kicker.

"That will not happen here. It applies to all players in general," he added.
