Franz Beckenbauer: Bayern '50-50' to win the Champions League final
Franz Beckenbauer expects Bayern München's Champions League final clash with Paris Saint-Germain to be a close affair.
Bayern München honorary president Franz Beckenbauer rates the German champions as '50-50' to win Sunday's Champions League final against Paris Saint-Germain.
"It's a 50-50 situation," Beckenbauer said in an interview with Sport1 when asked to assess Bayern's chances of lifting the Champions League trophy on Sunday.
"FC Bayern have a winner's mentality. But I've seen Paris Saint-Germain play a few times, and they play very good football. I like them. With Barcelona, I always had the feeling that they have weaknesses and that you can take advantage of them. That's not the case with Paris. They have no weak spots.
"It's a balanced and very complete team. That's why it's very difficult to play against them."
Bayern reached the final after eliminating FC Barcelona and Olympique Lyon from the eight-team mini tournament in Lisbon.
