Niklas Süle was left out of Bayern München's squad for Saturday's 1-1 draw with Werder Bremen in the Bundesliga.
The official reason for his absence was a 'training deficit', but there is more to it than that, according to a report from Bild.
The German publication claims that Bayern coach Hansi Flick is unhappy with the fitness levels, weight and attitude of Süle.
Apparently, he wants the 25-year-old centre-back to work more professionally on being in top condition.
"He has had a setback in training. He must be 100 percent fit before he can be an option for us again," Flick told Bild when asked about the German international.
Süle has made nine appearances for Bayern this season.
