Hoffenheim midfielder Leonardo Bittencourt, who is eligible to play for both Germany and Brazil, says he would choose to play for 'Die Mannschaft' if he was called up for both teams.

At youth level, he was approached by both associations and chose to play for Germany. And Bittencourt - the son of former Brazilian footballer Franklin Bittencourt - says he would probably do the same at senior level.

"I hold both passports, and if the invitation came, I would have to think about it. But I think the focus in Germany is slightly higher," Bittencourt said in an interview with Hoffenheim's club magazine 'Spielfeld' and added:

"I had an invitation from both associations and decided for Germany, so I think I would do the same with the senior national team if I had an invitation from both sides."

Bittencourt, 24, joined Hoffenheim from FC Köln in the summer.
