Werder Bremen are poised to take Bayern München youngster Lars Lukas Mai on loan, according to Bild.

The German tabloid claims that the centre-back's move to Weserstadion is practically a done deal, with only the final details left to be agreed between the parties.

Mai has been linked with a long list of clubs, including Fortuna Düsseldorf, Schalke 04, Hamburger SV, Basel and Vitesse Arnheim.

At Werder, who were relegated from the Bundesliga last season, Mai could be reunited with Markus Anfang, who he played under on loan at Darmstadt last season.

The 21-year-old featured 32 times for Darmstadt last season. His contract with Bayern expires in 2023.
