At a press conference today, Borussia Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke and new head coach Marco Rose reflected on Jadon Sancho's impending switch to Manchester United.

"There is a basic agreement with United, but there are still things that need to be clarified," said Watzke after Dortmund sent out a financial statement confirming that the two clubs have agreed a transfer fee of €85 million for the England international.

"It was Jadon's desire to change. We would have liked to keep him. Jadon has been fantastic and carried us forward in the second half of last season. We are not happy about the money and are rather sad that he is leaving."

Speaking at his introductory press conference as Borussia Dortmund coach, Rose said:

"His qualities are unpredictable. He's very strong in one-on-one situations, but he's also a goal scorer. Every coach likes to have a player like that in his team. Now, as it looks, he's gone.

"We've talked about how we can replace these qualities. We'll try to find creative solutions, and we see this as an opportunity to change the way we set up certain positions."
