Eintracht Frankfurt have received a significant boost on the injury front.

Rasmus Kristensen trained fully with his teammates on Tuesday for the first time since suffering a muscle injury in his right thigh during Eintracht’s 3-1 loss to Bayer Leverkusen on September 12.

The Danish right-back is now targeting a return to action when Frankfurt face Freiburg on October 19, in their first game after the international break.

“It’s my plan to be in good shape and ready for Freiburg,” Kristensen told Bild.

The Dane missed several key matches, including Eintracht’s 5-1 Champions League opening win over Galatasaray.

“The worst part is having to watch from the sidelines. When I heard the anthem against Galatasaray from the stands, the first few minutes were just a terrible feeling,” he admitted.

After back-to-back defeats to Atletico Madrid (5-1) and Bayern Munich (0-3), Kristensen is eager to help Eintracht get back on track and stabilise their defence.

“There were a lot of tough opponents. For a young team, it’s normal to go through a phase like this. We just have to keep going,” he said.
