With a routine 4-0 win over VfL Wolfsburg this afternoon, VfB Stuttgart coach Sebastian Hoeneß was overjoyed by his side's dominant performance.

“The first-half was superb. I saw a lot of attacking flair and a real drive towards goal – we kept the opposition moving and had numerous breakthroughs into the penalty area.

"The lads also managed to create the desired scoreline and go into halftime with a comfortable lead. This set the tone for the second-half.

"We didn't let up in terms of our attitude or our commitment. There wasn't a single period where we relinquished control of the game.

“We defended well as a team and ultimately even managed to score a fourth goal. Overall, there were many high-level performances. It was a good day for us,” Hoeneß explained.

Two-goal hero Jamie Leweling was equally ecstatic with the victory, discussing the competition for starting spots and his contribution to the result.

"You can tell that everyone wants to start, we were very present from the first minute and even had chances for more goals. We approached it very professionally.

“I'm also happy that I was able to score two goals, but the team's success is the most important thing. We can go into the training week with a good feeling,” he added.
