Patrik Schick feels he is breathing down the neck of Bayern Munich’s Harry Kane in the race to be the 2024-25 Bundesliga top-scorer.

Each season, Germany rewards the best domestic top-flight scorer with the Torjagerkanone – a model replica of a cannon.

“I’m four goals behind Harry Kane, that’s a lot. But I can get close to him,” said the Leverkusen striker in an interview with BILD.

“We have an interesting [fixture] schedule. I believe in it a little bit, but most of all we want to put pressure on Bayern.

“I think it’s still possible. We are now six points behind Bayern, and we want to apply some pressure. We believe we can,” the Czechia native explained.

With 8 matchdays remaining, Bayern’s Kane leads the way on 21 goals while Schick (17) is two clear of Tim Kleindienst and Jonathan Burkardt (15, each).
