Sport Bild Report: Augsburg and Stuttgart remain far apart on Demirovic fee

Whilst commenting on the future of VfB Stuttgart players Serhou Guirassy and Waldemar Anton earlier today, Stuttgart sporting director Fabian Wohlgemuth also confirmed that he and his staff were in negotiations with FC Augsburg over the potential purchase of Bosnian striker Ermedin Demirovic. Wohlgemuth admitted that rumors surrounding both the procurement of Demirovic and the permanent purchase of German striker Deniz Undav being financially problematicwere very much true. 

"[Demirovic] brings us back to the economic situation," Wohlgemuth told reporters from the sideline of Stuttgart's first summer training session, "[We're engaged] in intensive discussions [over Undav]. We will try everything, but we have to make sure that we don't exceed our financial limits."

Germany's main sporting tabloid purports to know the inside details over the Demirovic negotiations. The FCA skipper maintains an estimated market worth of €20 million. Augsburg are requesting €25 million. Stuttgart initially tendered a lowball offer in the €15 million range. Wohlgemuth and his staff upped their bid to €18 million on the second go, still far below what the Fuggerstädter are asking. 

It appears as if Stuttgart do not wish to exceed the €18-million mark. This is the amount they are expected to obtain for lead-striker Serhou Guirassy via the exit clause in the striker's current contract. If the German tabloid's information proves correct, a move to Swabia for Demirovic looks to be unlikely. Most German sources nevertheless do claim that Demirovic wishes to join Stuttgart.
