Eintracht Frankfurt began their 2025/26 Champions League campaign in style, thrashing Turkish champions Galatasaray 5-1 on Thursday night.

Speaking to reporters after the game, head coach Dino Toppmöller could hardly believe what he had just watched.

“What a night! Unbelievable!” he exclaimed in his post-match interview.

“In terms of the atmosphere, it was extraordinary even before kick-off. You could feel the energy. We started the game well but still went 1-0 down. You could see that we were nervous, but that all went away when we equalised.

“It was a richly deserved win with great goals and great moments. It’s special to be able to celebrate like that at the end”

Eintracht now shift their focus to Sunday’s Bundesliga showdown with Union Berlin.
