After a breakout season with Stuttgart in the Bundesliga and impressing at the U21 Euros, Nick Woltemade has attracted interest from several top European clubs - including Bayern Munich.

Speaking after Bayern’s 0-1 loss to Benfica in the Club World Cup on Tuesday, the club’s sporting director Christoph Freund confirmed that the 23-year-old striker is firmly on their radar.

“Nick is playing really well, he’s a German player who is very interesting,” Freund told Abendzeitung.

Whether Woltemade will leave Stuttgart this summer remains uncertain, with the Swabians determined to keep him and hoping to extend his contract.

Freund also provided an update on Bayern’s ongoing search for a new winger.

According to reports, three of their main targets appear to be out of reach: Nico Williams is leaning towards a move to Barcelona, Bradley Barcola looks set to stay at Paris Saint-Germain, and Jamie Gittens is reportedly close to joining Chelsea.

“There’s no concrete timeline,” said Freund, adding:

“But we’re working on it, that’s no secret. There are talks.”
