Bayern Munich have reportedly stepped up their interest in 16-year-old Hertha BSC midfielder Kennet Eichhorn.

According to Sky Germany, the German champions recently held a second meeting with the player as they aim to persuade him to choose them over several other top clubs interested in his signature.

The report adds that Bayern are prepared to offer Eichhorn regular playing time and a long-term contract running until 2031.

Manchester City are believed to be Bayern’s main rival for the 16-year-old, who has a reported release clause in the region of €10-12 million.

Should the Premier League side prevail in the race for the German youth international, they could send him straight on loan to Bayer Leverkusen, where he would have a better chance of getting playing time.
