Following their 1-0 loss to SC Freiburg this afternoon, SC Paderborn coach Ralf Kettemann felt his side were worthy of some reward.

“We struggled to create chances in the first half. To show such a reaction, I absolutely have to take my hat off to the lads.

“A point would have been deserved,” Kettemann added, before Paderborn striker Marvin Pieringer shared his thoughts:

“We conceded an unlucky goal, and we lacked precision up front. We realize that we can compete with established Bundesliga teams."

Despite failing to produce an equalizer, the newly promoted Bundesliga side even drew the praises of Freiburg coach Julian Schuster.

“The way they're playing is very impressive. We needed an incredibly high tolerance for frustration.

“I'm sure Paderborn will pick up a few more points at home,” said Schuster, highlighting just how hard his team found it to leave with a win.
