Bellingham admits Dortmund were the better team in the first half: "They could have been two or three up"

Speaking after Real Madrid's Champions League final win, Jude Bellingham admitted that Borussia Dortmund were the better team in the first 45 minutes and that the Black and Yellows could have been two or three goals up at the break.

Jude Bellingham crowned an impressive first season at Real Madrid with a Champions League trophy on Saturday, helping the La Liga champions to a 2-0 victory over his former club Borussia Dortmund.

It wasn't an easy victory for Real Madrid, however, as Dortmund put up a good fight and created a number of chances, particularly in the first half.

Bellingham conceded as much after the game, admitting that the Germans could have been comfortably in front after the first 45 minutes.

"I have to be honest: they were the better team in the first half," Bellingham told DAZN after the game.

"They could’ve been two or three up. But it’s just that character... [we can] come back to haunt you. Huge respect for both clubs; the club I’m at now is so special to me and so is my old club.

“It wouldn’t be possible without them. I’ll always be grateful and always have respect for what that club did for me.”
