Borussia Dortmund are heading into a demanding run of fixtures between now and the international break in November, playing six matches in roughly two and a half weeks five of them away from home.

As head coach Niko Kovac explained ahead of Tuesday’s Champions League clash with FC Copenhagen in the Danish capital, squad rotation will be necessary.

“We’ll not only be playing a lot, but also traveling a lot,” Kovac said at his pre-match press conference.

“That means there will be some physical toll. We’ll definitely rotate. Whether that’ll happen tomorrow (Tuesday, editor's note), I haven’t decided yet. But in the coming games, it will definitely be the case, so that everyone gets their minutes. We also need to make sure we don’t risk injuries by overplaying someone.”

Fortunately for Kovac, he has nearly a full squad at his disposal, with long-term absentees Emre Can and Julien Duranville the only players unavailable.

“We had a very intense match in Munich, but by tomorrow (Tuesday, editor's note), everyone will surely be recovered enough to play a full 90 minutes," he said.
