FC Bayern Munich extended their winning streak in Bundesliga with a routine 4-1 win over Borussia Mönchengladbach. Harry Kane was absent from Bayern’s squad for the first time this season as the in-form striker is on the sidelines with a knock in his calf.

"Hopefully. If he (Kane) makes it, that’ll be great. Otherwise, we'll do it with the guys we have," said Vincent Kompany after the end of the game when he was asked about whether the England captain returns to the side for the upcoming Champions League game against Atalanta.

Meanwhile, Manuel Neuer once again had to be substituted at half-time with what seemed to be yet another injury setback. "He felt something in his calf. We'll see what the results show," said Kompany as he preferred not to speculate on the extent of the injury.

Bayern will travel to Bergamo to face Atalanta in the first leg of the Champions League Round of 16 on Tuesday night. Before the return fixture at the Allianz Arena, they will have another tricky away fixture with the Bundesliga game against Bayer Leverkusen.
