After being left out of Germany’s squad in November, Eintracht Frankfurt captain Robin Koch is hoping to force his way back into Julian Nagelsmann’s plans ahead of this summer’s World Cup.

“The World Cup is a huge goal,” Koch admitted in an interview with SID.

“If it’s enough in the end, it would of course be an absolute dream. Anyone who has played for Germany knows what it means to wear this shirt,” he continued.

“Of course it’s a topic that keeps you occupied. I would be lying if I said it didn’t. But for me, it’s clear: I can only make my case through my performances at Eintracht Frankfurt.

“The national team coach knows what I can give to the team. I know my role in the squad and have always known how to make it work best.”

Germany face Switzerland and Ghana in friendlies this month, and inclusion in that squad would represent an encouraging sign for Koch in his bid to return to the national team setup.
