With Manuel Neuer out with a broken rib and Sven Ulreich absent for personal reasons, Daniel Peretz is currently the only senior goalkeeper available in the Bayern Munich squad.

With this in mind, Bild recently reported that the Bavarians are considering signing an experienced back-up goalkeeper in January, with former Liverpool man Loris Karius mentioned as a candidate.

However, speaking ahead of Bayern's 5-1 win over Shakhtar Donetsk on Tuesday, the club's board member for sport, Max Eberl, made it clear that there are no plans to bring in a new goalkeeper.

"No. We have an excellent replacement in Daniel Peretz," Eberl insisted.

"We have nothing to worry about at the moment."

He went on to say that Neuer is expected to be available for the start of the second half of the season at the latest:

“Manu will be back soon. Sure, a broken rib is unpleasant for a goalkeeper, but ‘Manu’ is still one of the best goalkeepers in the world.”
