SC Freiburg
March didn't seem to be Freiburg's best month. The club failed to win any of their first four games, losing three. A first-leg loss to Genk was potentially the most damaging, as it put Julian Schuster's side in real danger of being knocked out in the Europa League Round of 16.
However, Freiburg responded in the second leg, picking up a dominant 5-1 win at home to move on. Three days later, Freiburg picked up their first Bundesliga win of the month with a 2-1 away win over St. Pauli as Igor Matanović came back to haunt his former club.
Freiburg are winless in their last six matches against Bayern Munich, and have not beaten the Bavarians in the Bundesliga since May 2015. Focus may be on Thursday's Europa League clash with Celta Vigo, too, although with some notable Bayern absences, an upset is possible.
Team News:
Max Rosenfelder is the lone absence against Bayern Munich, as he remains sidelined with an injury he picked up in February.
Predicted Lineup (4-2-3-1): Atubolu, Treu, Ginter, Lienhart, Makengo, Eggestein, Manzambi, Beste, Suzuki, Scherhant, Matanović
Bayern Munich
Bayern Munich had a near-flawless March, winning four of five. The only dropped points came in a 1-1 draw with Bayer Leverkusen, which saw Kompany's side reduced to nine men after red cards to Nicolas Jackson and Luis Díaz.
However, injuries and absences dominated the headlines. All three goalkeepers suffered injuries, forcing Bayern to prepare 16-year-old Leonard Prescott for action in the Champions League. Jonas Urbig was ultimately ready to start, but the Bavarians are struggling with availability at a key stretch in the season.
Bayern have a massive test on Tuesday when they play Real Madrid away in the Champions League. Despite the important clash coming up, Kompany has still emphasized that Freiburg are the priority, and the Bavarians will be expecting a win.
Team News:
Bayern will be missing both strikers, as Nicolas Jackson is still suspended after his red card, while Harry Kane is being rested after picking up an injury on international break.
Jamal Musiala, Alphonso Davies, and Manuel Neuer have all recovered from injuries but are not expected to start.
Predicted Lineup (4-2-3-1): Neuer, Stanisic, Tah, Upamecano, Laimer, Kimmich, Goretzka, Olise, Karl, Diaz, Gnabry
