Xabi Alonso (Real Madrid), Jonathan Tah (Bayern Munich), and Jeremie Frimpong (Liverpool) have already departed Bayer Leverkusen, while Florian Wirtz is reportedly close to joining Liverpool as well.
Another high-profile name who could follow them out the door is Alejandro Grimaldo, with the Spanish left-back increasingly linked with a return to his homeland.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Grimaldo has a release clause set below €20 million, possibly in the €15-18 million range.
That’s significantly lower than previous reports, which suggested a fee of €30-40 million would be required to tempt Leverkusen to sell.
The 29-year-old has been heavily linked with FC Barcelona, the club where he came through the youth ranks but never made a senior league appearance.
Atlético Madrid are also said to be keeping tabs on the Spanish international, who is under contract until 2027.
