“It really is something special to come back to Bochum and to VfL,” said Vogt.

“For the medical check, I drove through my old neighborhood I know every street there. Here at VfL, I’ve seen some long-standing staff members again, and I even ran into my former teammate Andi Luthe at the office it feels really good.

“I’m genuinely excited about the challenge. I’m already looking forward to getting started with training and getting to know the team. We all want success and I want to contribute my qualities and experience to that goal.”

Since leaving Bochum as a young player, Vogt has played for Augsburg, 1. FC Köln, Hoffenheim, Werder Bremen, and Union Berlin. Now, he’s back where it all started.
