Bayern Munich’s 3-1 Champions League win over Chelsea on Wednesday came at a cost, with Josip Stanisic forced off due to a knee problem.

The Croatian full-back is set to miss Saturday’s Bundesliga clash with Hoffenheim, while Raphael Guerreiro remains a major doubt.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference on Friday, Bayern coach Vincent Kompany outlined the situation at left back.

“You'll see tomorrow what our plan is there. There aren't many options left with Josip Stanisic now out. We'll see with Raphael Guerreiro how he is. He hasn't trained this week. It's probably not that bad for Stani. It's just a short-term injury. We'll deal with it with the guys we have.”

“He'll miss a few games. We hope he can be back after the international break,” he added on Stanisic's injury.

Sacha Boey, who came off the bench to replace Stanisic against Chelsea, appears the most likely candidate to step in.

“I said clearly when it was about the size of the squad that it's important that I have just confidence in every player I have. There are no exceptions. Sacha is part of that. His performance against Chelsea was very good. The focus is on the squad, on the team, not on individuals,” Kompany stressed.
