VfL Wolfsburg and RB Leipzig could be heading into a battle for the services of FC Copenhagen coach Jacob Neestrup, with both clubs still searching for a new head coach ahead of the 2025/26 season.

Neestrup has long been linked with Wolfsburg, where he could reunite with sporting director Peter Christiansen, who previously worked at FC Copenhagen.

However, according to Kicker, Sky Germany, and Sport Bild, RB Leipzig have now also entered the race for the 37-year-old, who recently guided Copenhagen to a domestic double.

After missing out on high-profile names like Cesc Fàbregas and Oliver Glasner, Leipzig have reportedly turned their attention to other candidates, including former Werder Bremen coach Ole Werner and Neestrup.

According to Kicker, Leipzig managing director for sport Marcel Schäfer previously held talks with Neestrup during his time at Wolfsburg. These discussions could now be revisited and intensified.
