Sky Germany have reported that Bayer Leverkusen and Mark Flekken have come to a full verbal agreement.
Brentford already gave the Netherlands shot-stopper the green light to leave the London club this summer.
Rumours linking the former SC Freiburg player with a move to Die Werkself sparked to life again on Monday.
A price is yet to be reached but it is estimated the 31-year-old will cost Leverkusen between €10-14million.
The transfer hinges entirely on Brentford's ability to find a replacement - one name being mentioned is Liverpool's Caoimhin Kelleher.
