VfB Stuttgart has extended Nikolas Nartey's contract for another year to keep the 25-year-old with the Cannstatt club until June 30, 2026.

After a considerable injury layoff, the midfielder fought his way back to full fitness and end the 2024/2025 season on a high.

He made his Bundesliga comeback on Matchday 34 in the 3-2 win against RB Leipzig, and featured in the 4-2 DFB Cup final against Arminia Bielefeld.

The Swabians sports director Fabian Wohlgemuth said: “Niko is an asset to our squad both on and off the pitch.

"Thanks to his footballing skills, he can be deployed in several positions, and his attitude is exemplary.

“With great ambition and a lot of energy, Niko has impressively fought his way back. We are delighted that we have been able to retain Niko at VfB,” he added.
