New injury blow for Bayern: Boey out for weeks after knee surgery

Bayern Munich have suffered another injury blow as Sacha Boey is set to be sidelined for weeks with a knee injury.

Sacha Boey has been ruled out for weeks with a knee injury, Bayern Munich announced on Monday.

The French right-back suffered a torn meniscus in his left knee during training on Sunday and has already undergone surgery.

Boey's injury leaves Bayern with a problem at right-back, with Josip Stanisic already out until November.

The Bavarians are also without versatile defender Hiroki Ito, who suffered a broken foot after joining the club from Stuttgart.

Tarek Buchmann, Arijon Ibrahimovic and Daniel Peretz are all unavailable as well due to injuries.

Boey started in Bayern's 6-1 thrashing of Holstein Kiel on Saturday.

Bayern begin their Champions League campaign on Tuesday with a home game against Dinamo Zagreb.
