As big European teams start to approach, Leverkusen must act fast to retain their talented winger who is on loan in the Austrian Bundesliga.

Bayer Leverkusen will most likely have to, and probably will, activate the buy-back clause for Kerim Alajbegović, according to Kicker.de.

The 18-year-old's deal runs with RB Salzburg until summer 2026 and is said to be worth around €6million.

Should Leverkusen fail to do so, then other clubs could sign Alajbegović for an even higher sum, given the freely negotiable transfer fee.

The player is already attracting interest from top clubs, so the extent to which he will play a role for Leverkusen remains to be seen.

If the winger is not offered sufficient playing time, given the strong competition, it would only be logical to loan Alajbegović out again.

That way, the Bosnian can help further his development, but at a higher level than his current loan club Salzburg.

So far this season, Alajbegovic has featured in 15 games in the Austrian Bundesliga, chipping in with a share of 6 goals.
