Sven Ulreich has signed a contract extension with Bayern München.

The 33-year-old goalkeeper's contract, which was due to expire this summer, has been extended until 2023.

"We are delighted that Sven is staying at FC Bayern for another year," said FC Bayern board member for sport Hasan Salihamidzic.

"He fits perfectly into our group with his character and mentality. Sven has an excellent understanding of his role and is always there when you need him."

Ulreich, who has spent a total of six seasons at Bayern, commented:

"FC Bayern has become like a family over all these years. I'm looking forward to another year here. I enjoy the job behind a world goalkeeper like Manuel Neuer, and we have a friendly, collegiate relationship between us."
