Leipzig defeated Celtic 3-1 at home last week, but are coming off yet another lackluster league performance in their draw to Mainz over the weekend. This will be Leipzig's first return to Scotland since their shocking Europa League semi-final loss to Rangers earlier this year.

It's been quite a challenging start to the season for a talented Leipzig squad. With their depth, the Red Bull club expect themselves to make it out of the Champions League group stage and consistently stay near the top of the Bundesliga table (currently 11th).

New coach Marco Rose is finding similar issues to what former trainer Domenico Tedesco experienced earlier this season. A clear-cut starting eleven has not emerged from the pack.

In his press conference, Rose stated that Celtic Park is, "A great stadium. We are expecting a good crowd with an audience who understands football and not only supports their team, but also appreciates it when the opposition plays well. It will be fun to play here!"

Andre Silva, who scored a brace against Celtic last week, added that, "It won't be easy because of the fans and the atmosphere. We will need to give it everything right until the end and try to win. - We need to be compact as a team and deliver the same energy we did in the first leg."

Leipzig are missing several key players including captain Peter Gulacsi, Lukas Klostermann, Konrad Laimer and Dani Olmo. Marcel Halstenberg has also been ruled out for the contest.

Celtic lead the Scottish Premiership, but have only scrapped one point in Champions League competition from their game against Shakhtar Donetsk. They will be without midfielder Callum McGregor, who's out with a knee injury.
