Reports: Sommer still keen on Bayern move, Gladbach's asking price a stumbling block

Reports claim that Yann Sommer still wants to join Bayern Munich, but the Gladbach goalkeeper's price is said to be a stumbling block.
A few days ago, Gladbach sporting director Roland Virkus seemingly put speculation linking Yann Sommer with Bayern Munich to bed by underlining that the 34-year-old will not leave in January.

Still, a deal still doesn't seem completely off the table, with reports claiming that Sommer is still very keen on joining the German champions. According to Sky Germany, the Swiss goalkeeper has even contacted Gladbach vice-president Rainer Bonhof and told him that he wants to make the move to Allianz Arena.

The stumbling block appears to be Gladbach's asking price. Montpellier's Jonas Omlin, who has been identified as the top candidate to replace Sommer, costs €8-10 million, and Gladbach expect to get a similar fee for the 34-year-old, per Bild.

Bayern, however, believe €4 million is a fair price for Sommer, who is out of contract at the end of the season, and have no intentions of doubling their offer, according to Sport1.
