Back in March 2023, Bayern Munich's sporting management decided to relieve Julian Nagelsmann of his duties as head coach and replace him with Thomas Tuchel.

Since then, Nagelsmann has been appointed Germany coach on a short-term contract until after the European Championship, while Bayern have confirmed that Thomas Tuchel will step down in the summer.

With Hasan Salihamidzic and Oliver Kahn, the two men most responsible for his sacking, no longer at Bayern, could Nagelsmann return to replace the outgoing Tuchel?

Although a return doesn't seem very likely at the moment, Bayern CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen isn't ruling anything out.

"I think others have already said that you should never rule anything out in football," Dreesen told the AZ when asked about a possible return for Nagelsmann.

"But that's something for the future and not a topic today."
