Eintracht Frankfurt goalkeeper Kevin Trapp will be out of action for the rest of 2019, the club have announced.

Trapp requires surgery on torn rotator cuff after injuring his shoulder in Frankfurt's 2-1 win over Union Berlin last week.

"Unfortunately, this is not good news for Kevin and us. We wish him a speedy recovery and are confident that he will be back in good shape. We have full confidence in Frederik Rønnow who will step in to replace Kevin," said Frankfurt sporting director Bruno Hübner.

Rønnow, 27, has made six appearances for Frankfurt since he joined the club from Danish side Brøndby IF in 2018.
