Arsenal have contacted Mainz about central defender
Mainz defender has reportedly caught the eye of Arsenal's new head of recruitment.
The 21-year-old French defender Abdou Diallo only joined Mainz this summer, but he could possibly soon be on the move again.
According to RMC Sport, Arsenal have reached out to Mainz to declare an interest in the young French defender.
Allegedly, Diallo has caught the eye of Arsenal's new head of recruitment, Sven Mislintat, who recently joined the English club from Borussia Dortmund where he served as chief scout.
Whether Arsenal are interested in signing Diallo already in January isn't known, but cosidering Mainz only signed him from Monaco six months ago, a deal in the summer seems more plausible.
Diallog has played 17 matches and scored three goals for Mainz this season.
