Özil's brother: 'He thought a lot about it'
Mesut Özil's brother says the Arsenal star had to think thoroughly about his decision to retire from the national team.
It certainly wasn't easy for Mesut Özil to make the decision to quit the German national team, his brother Mutlu Özil says.
Mutlu Özil, the managing director of Mesut Özil's management team, talked it all through with his brother.
"We made this decision together. He thought a lot about the subject," Mutlu Özil told Turkish news agency DHA and added:
"Everyone wants to play one last game and retire well. He could have said goodbye in a better way."
