Kicker report: Michael Cuisance purchase clause close to €18 million

French midfielder Michael Cuisance remains property of FC Bayern München. After a highly successful pair of fixtures in Ligue 1, however, the 21-year-old made it known to L'equipe that he wishes to remain in his home country.

Two late goals off the bench for Olympique de Marseille have Michael Cuisance flying high. The Strasbourg native beamed at his club's most recent post-match press conference and made no secret of his desire to make his current loan permanent.

It took 18 fixtures in Ligue 1 for the youngster to score his first goal. He netted his second a scant ten minutes of pitch time later. After an extremely hectic summer that included a failed medical with Leeds, the highly touted youngster can hardly be faulted for seeking a more stable arrangement.

Bayern purchased Cuisance from Borussia Mönchengladbach just prior to the 2019/20 season for a reported €8 million. Given that his current market worth is estimated to be €10-12 million, it was tacitly assumed that the loan deal secured this past autumn contained a purchase clause for around that amount.

German footballing magazine Kicker currently reports that the number actually may be in upwards of €18 million. This would constitute a big net plus for Bayern, who ostensibly would have few qualms about letting an extra central midfielder go. It remains to be seen if Marseille considers it worth the splurge.
