Borussia Dortmund have reportedly received encouraging news in their efforts to re-sign Carney Chukwuemeka from Chelsea.

The Black and Yellows have been exploring the possibility of extending the midfielder’s stay following his promising loan spell in the second half of last season, but financial constraints had so far made a permanent deal difficult.

Now, according to Bild, Chelsea have signaled a willingness to lower their original asking price and are reportedly offering the 21-year-old for around €25 million.

At that price, a permanent transfer is considered “a real possibility,” the report states.

Chukwuemeka himself is said to be eager to return to Dortmund. Should a move ultimately fall through, BVB could move for Brighton & Hove Albion’s Facundo Buonanotte instead.
