Ironing out the last few details evidently took some time, but all the previously reported details are now confirmed to be correct. Hertha BSC pockets a minimum of €20 million on the sale of striker Jhon Cordoba to FK Krasnodar in the Russian Premiership. The finalization of the transaction will obviously expedite some of the rumored purchases Fredi Bobic and the West German capital club wish to make.

From a Russian perspective, the deal also constitutes a massive statement from oligarch Sergey Galitsky and the relatively new club he founded some 13 years ago. The "Green Bulls" are essentially the RB Leipzig of Russian football, prepared to spend their way up to the top if necessary.

"Krasnodar is one of the few privately owned clubs in Russia," area correspondent Artyom Zavodnyk explained on Transfermarkt's German website, "Thanks to their participation in the Champions League season, they even earned a bit of extra money. The sum of the transfer fee is nevertheless surprising for everyone in the country."

Club sporting CEO Bobic wished Cordoba well in an official statement. Hertha also thanked the Colombian for his services on its twitter feed.
