Pavlovic bemoans Tel’s permanent move to Tottenham

Aleksandar Pavlovic believes it's a shame that Mathys Tel has left Bayern Munich for good.

Over the weekend, it was confirmed that Mathys Tel is leaving Bayern Munich permanently to join Tottenham, where he spent the second half of the 2024/25 season on loan.

For Bayern midfielder Aleksandar Pavlovic, who enjoyed playing with Tel, the departure is regrettable.

“I personally find it a shame,” Pavlovic told Sky Germany after Bayern’s commanding 10-0 win over Auckland City in the Club World Cup opener.

“He has been a very good friend of mine and still is. In the end, he and the club made the decision. Unfortunately, that’s how it is.”

Following his permanent move to Tottenham, Tel posted an emotional message on Instagram addressed to Bayern and their supporters.

“Dear Bayern fans, it’s never easy to say goodbye to loved ones, but the time has come… I really loved every minute I played for this great club, and Munich will forever be in my heart,” the striker wrote, among other things.
