Mio Backhaus looks increasingly likely to leave Werder Bremen this summer.

According to Bild, a transfer for the goalkeeper could be completed within the next two weeks, with the German tabloid naming Newcastle United and Brighton & Hove Albion among the frontrunners.

Sky Germany, meanwhile, reports that talks are underway with Freiburg, Newcastle and Inter, and suggests a possible transfer fee of around €20 million.

In addition to the aforementioned clubs, Borussia Dortmund have also been mentioned among the 22-year-old’s suitors.

It was recently reported by Bremen-based outlet Deichstube that Werder are looking to make Karl Hein’s loan from Arsenal permanent and install him as their new No. 1, further adding to speculation around Backhaus' future.
