Bayer Leverkusen open talks to sign potential Wirtz replacement

Several reports claim that Bayer Leverkusen have opened talks to sign PSV’s Malik Tillman as they seek to fill the void left by Florian Wirtz.

A new contender has emerged in Bayer Leverkusen’s pursuit to replace Florian Wirtz, who recently completed a high-profile transfer to Liverpool.

According to Kicker and Sky Germany, Die Werkself are currently in talks to sign Malik Tillman from PSV Eindhoven.

The 23-year-old U.S. international is expected to cost a fee of at least €30 million, with Bayern reportedly holding a buy-back clause valued at €35 million.

Tillman initially joined PSV on loan from FC Bayern in 2023 before making the move permanent last summer for a reported €12 million.

In the 2024/25 season, Tillman impressed with 16 goals and five assists across 34 appearances for PSV.

He is currently representing the United States at the Gold Cup.
