According to L'Équipe, Bayer Leverkusen have sent a first offer to AS Monaco for the services of Moroccan international Eliesse Ben Seghir. The 20-year-old left winger is considered the perfect replacement by Leverkusen for his compatriot Amine Adli, who is joining Premier League side Bournemouth.

L'Équipe quoted that Leverkusen’s first offer was expected to be rejected by the Ligue 1 club as they demand €35 million. Leverkusen were in the race for Maghnes Akliouche, but Monaco’s asking price made the deal difficult.

Ben Seghir played the last half an hour when Monaco started their season with a 3-1 win over Le Havre yesterday. Including 10 Champions League games, he has played 84 matches for the Monégasque since making his debut at the age of 17.
